Podcast | Dominic White on WannaCry - TechCentral

Podcast | Dominic White on WannaCry

In this special episode of the TechCentral podcast, SensePost chief technology officer Dominic White, dialling in from London over Skype, chats to TechCentral editor Duncan McLeod about the WannaCry ransomware incident that has grabbed headlines around the world since late last week.

Listen in as White talks about who should be blamed for WannaCry, if anyone — and does it actually help to point fingers?.

Also hear his views on the role of Microsoft and the US National Security Agency; whether it would be desirable to force companies and governments to disclose vulnerabilities they find in software through legislation; and what people should be doing to protect themselves from attack. There’s plenty more on the subject, too…

Everyone’s overthinking the “old Windows version” issue. Just back up your stuff. Absolutely no excuse not to do that, especially for big organizations. If you’ve got a 20 year old PC that needs XP or Win7, you should spend $20 to buy some software that can image/restore the hdd every night.

They would do GOOD if they imposed their company to return the ill gotten profits they made out of illegal sales/deductions. Removing him might just be a way of calming the storm; We have seen so much from these capitalistic machinations…… Not sure to trust this move….yet.
