The machine in front of a working professional now sets the limit on how much AI work can be done on the device rather than sent to the cloud. The ASUS ExpertBook P5 G2 is built for that job: a business laptop that pairs on-device AI performance with a 2.5K display, long battery life and a chassis starting at 1.27kg. Whether the user is a bookkeeper, a content creator, a consultant or a sole trader, the work runs through that laptop.
The silicon
The P5 G2 runs up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX processor with a neural processing unit rated at 55 Tops – trillions of operations per second, the standard measure for AI accelerators – and supports up to 96GB of DDR5 memory. ASUS says the combination allows several AI-based workloads and applications to run at the same time without the machine slowing down.
Storage starts at up to 1TB of preconfigured PCIe 4.0 SSD and can be upgraded across the laptop’s dual SSD slots to 3TB. For businesses holding more of their data on the device, that means immediate offline access to it.
Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) and a full set of I/O ports, including USB4 Type-C, cover the connectivity side.
Built for work anywhere
Hybrid work has made portability a specification rather than a nice-to-have. The P5 G2 comes in a lightweight metal body from 1.27kg, with an anti-glare IPS panel at 2.5K WQXGA resolution (2 560×1 600) and a 144Hz refresh rate, in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. The panel reaches 400 nits of brightness and covers 100% of sRGB, which keeps the image usable in most lighting.
A 70Wh four-cell lithium-polymer battery gives up to 22.5 hours of offline video playback, according to ASUS, and charges to 65% in 49 minutes. The ExpertCool thermal structure dissipates heat as effectively with the lid closed as open, and the laptop has passed the ASUS Superior Durability Test and US military-grade testing, covering altitude, temperature and humidity as well as hinge, panel pressure, keyboard durability and spill resistance.
Secure, productive and intelligent
The P5 G2 is a Microsoft Copilot+ PC, which brings features including Recall, Live Captions, Windows Studio Effects and improved Windows Search. Signed in with a Microsoft Entra ID account, Copilot helps users create, find, translate and edit content.
Those capabilities extend into collaboration. ASUS Voice Enhancer, exclusive to ASUS devices, makes voices louder and clearer, alongside de-reverberation, noise reduction and acoustic echo cancellation. An ASUS AI camera optimises lighting, tracks motion and blurs the background.
AI-ready hardware
Businesses are under pressure to get more out of every technology investment, which means buying hardware that meets today’s requirements and leaves room for new ways of working.
The ExpertBook P5 G2 is built to do both: features aimed at everyday workplace tasks, AI tools that run on the device, and a chassis designed to survive the commute. Discover the ExpertBook P5 G2 and the full range of ASUS enterprise laptops at www.asus.com/za.
