TechCentral’s podcasts had a barnstorming 2018, more than doubling downloads compared to 2017, as more and more South Africans adopted the format for media consumption.

Interviews with Vodacom Group CEO Shameel Joosub (7 May), BCX CEO Jonas Bogoshi (1 June), and Blue Label co-CEOs Brett and Mark Levy (25 September) virtually tied for first place in the top 10 most downloaded TechCentral podcasts in 2018, with the Joosub discussion just edging out the other two.

An interview with now former BCX CEO Ian Russell (9 March) placed fourth in this year’s most popular podcasts, with a joint interview with Naspers CEO Bob van Dijk and letgo co-founder Alec Oxenford (16 August) rounding out the top five.

In sixth to 10th places were Liberty CEO David Munro speaking on the cyberattack on the financial services group (17 June); the great e-tolls debate with Outa’s Wayne Duvenage and Electronic Toll Collection’s Coenie Vermaak (25 November); Community Investment Ventures Holdings nonexecutive chairman Pieter Uys on the big Vumatel deal (8 June); an interview with Rain CEO Willem Roos (11 June); and an interview with Andy Openshaw, Mondi Hattingh and Jaco Visagie on Reunert’s acquisition of SkyWire.

If you missed any of these interviews, here’s your chance to catch up.
