Micromega Group subsidiary Turrito Networks has acquired a majority stake in the well-known small and medium enterprise (SME) technology support firm Dial a Nerd for an undisclosed amount of money.

The deal will position Turrito Networks as a provider of comprehensive technology services to the SME market, the company said. This includes providing managed desktop and networking solutions, high-speed connectivity and converged communications, said Turrito MD Brian Timperley.

Co-MDs and brothers Colin Thornton and Aaron Thornton will remain at the helm of the Dial a Nerd business, working alongside the Turrito Networks leadership team of Timperley and Louis Jardim.

The full Dial a Nerd staff complement of 65 employees will be retained as part of the acquisition and will take Turrito Networks to just over 100 employees nationwide. The retention of the skills at Dial a Nerd was an important element of the acquisition, Turrito said.
