Telkom has named Business Connexion (BCX) CEO Isaac Mophatlane as the new CEO of the merged BCX and Telkom Business entities.

The merger of the businesses follows Telkom’s acquisition of BCX last year in a R2,7bn all-cash deal.

“The naming of the new CEO is the next step in the full integration process, anticipated to be completed within the next 12 months,” Telkom said in a statement.

Isaac Mophatlane has been CEO of BCX since August 2014, when he took over from his late brother, Benjamin Mophatlane.

The Mophatlane twins founded BCX (then known as Business Connection), a computer reseller focused on government and state-owned enterprises that was merged with the old PQ Africa business (itself the result of the earlier integration of Comparex and Q Data).

“In the coming weeks and months, Isaac will be driving the full integration of Telkom Business Connexion and we are proud to have such an astute business leader fulfilling this role,” said Telkom CEO Sipho Maseko in the statement.  — © 2016 NewsCentral Media
