Telkom’s group chief of regulatory and corporate affairs, Ouma Rasethaba, will take the reins as chief risk officer with immediate effect, the telecommunications operator said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Ms Rasethaba has played a valuable role at Telkom over the years, first as group executive for regulatory and public policy and later as chief of corporate governance,” said Maseko in the statement. “Hers was not always an easy task, especially when one considers the complexity of the legal matters Telkom has had to deal with, as well as the fluidity of the regulatory environment.”
As chief risk officer, Rasethaba will be responsible for the overall control of Telkom’s risk management processes – the identification, assessment and response to those risks that influence Telkom achieving its objectives, the company said.
According to Maseko, she will also, as she’s done in the past, lead the team from group legal services, which includes managing the implementation of good corporate governance principles. — (c) 2014 NewsCentral Media
