    Mohlala to challenge her dismissal

Axed communications department director-general Mamodupi Mohlala was planning to challenge her dismissal, Business Day reported on Monday.

“There is no settlement. They dismissed me. And I will be challenging the dismissal,” said Mohlala.

Ministry spokesman Tiyani Rikhotso told Sapa that Mohlala had not informed the department of her intention to challenge the dismissal. “No, we haven’t been informed of that,” said Rikhotso.

The department announced on Friday that Mohlala had been “released” from her duties.

“In the process of trying to find solutions to the challenges, it subsequently became apparent that trust between the minister [Siphiwe Nyanda] and the director-general has broken down irretrievably,” Rikhotso said in a statement on Friday afternoon.  — Sapa
