MTN Uganda and Huawei bring LinkHome to the MyMTN app

MTN Uganda has partnered with Huawei to improve the home broadband experience through LinkHome, a smart home management application now fully integrated into the MyMTN app. The integration gives MTN Home customers self-service tools to monitor and manage their home connectivity directly through the app.

As fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) adoption accelerates across Uganda, home broadband has become an essential part of daily life. Families are connecting more devices than ever for work, study and entertainment, raising expectations of fast, reliable and convenient connectivity. For MTN Uganda, delivering connectivity is no longer enough – the next step is to provide a better digital experience for every household.

Integrated into the MyMTN app, LinkHome brings a range of home broadband management features into a single application. Users can view connected devices, monitor network status, run Wi-Fi diagnostics, optimise home Wi-Fi coverage and access parental controls, giving them greater visibility and control over their home network.

We are empowering customers with greater visibility and control over their home networks

MTN Uganda says the response has been positive, with customers citing the simplicity and convenience of the service. About 40% of MyMTN Home app users have already adopted LinkHome, and the operator has seen fewer customer support requests related to home Wi-Fi, helping improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

“As our FTTH customer base continues to grow, delivering an outstanding home broadband experience has become a strategic priority,” said Franklin Ocharo, general manager for growth and new business at MTN Uganda. “By integrating LinkHome into MyMTN, we are empowering customers with greater visibility and control over their home networks while supporting our Ambition 2030 vision of delivering world-class digital services.”

    Intelligent home services

Huawei says intelligent home services are becoming an important part of the digital home experience.

“Our partnership with MTN Uganda is about more than technology – it is about making home broadband easier to use and creating greater value for consumers,” said Zhang Hao, MD of Huawei Uganda. “We will continue working with MTN to deliver innovative digital home experiences for more Ugandan families.”

MTN Uganda and Huawei plan to keep expanding digital home services as fibre networks grow, bringing more households reliable connectivity and smarter home experiences.
