Telkom Business has launched a mobile data solution for international travellers meant to help them avoid bill shock when connecting to the Internet while abroad.
The “Pocket WiFi” solution offers mobile data access in 140 countries, Telkom said in a statement.
The mobile hotspot can connect up to 10 devices — smartphones, tablets and laptops — to the Internet via 3G connectivity, Telkom said.
“At R599/month over 24 months, the offer includes 10GB of international data, made up of 34 daily 300MB data bundles, as well as 2GB of local data per month to be used locally between business trips,” the company said.
“When customers have used up the allocated 10GB of international data they can then purchase 300MB of daily data bundles at R300/bundle for the remainder of the contract period,” it added.
At the same time, Telkom has released a Pocket WiFi application to allow users to track their international data usage in “near real time”. — © 2016 NewsCentral Media
