FGP, a grouping led by radio personality Tim Modise has acquired a 30% shareholding in technology skills training company ICTWORX for an undisclosed sum.
The IT training company has been involved in the provision of technical and engineering skills for the past six years and is a training partner for IBM, Huawei and SAP.
Modise has been appointed executive chairman of ICTWORX with immediate effect.
CEO Hennie Pienaar says Modise, who currently hosts the breakfast show on recently launched Gauteng talk radio station Power FM, has played leadership roles in various capacities in tourism, the Proudly South African campaign and the 2010 World Cup. He led the Sizwe IT group as chairman and CEO for eight years.
Modise says ICTWORX intends introducing new courses and creating more opportunities for young South Africans to become professional technicians and engineers in the technology field.
The company operates mainly in South Africa but has operations in Nigeria, Kenya and Angola. Pienaar says the company plans an aggressive growth strategy that will include moving into new markets and signing training agreements with two additional partners. — © 2014 NewsCentral Media
