Interview: Inside Cell C’s Black, with Surie Ramasary

Surie Ramasary

In this episode of the TechCentral podcast, Duncan McLeod chats to Surie Ramasary, the chief executive for content at Black, Cell C’s new entertainment and video streaming platform.

In the podcast, Ramasary provides detailed insights into the new platform and how it will work.

She talks about the new Android set-top box that will be made available as part of the offering and explains some of the technical details behind the service — from streaming quality to how you can watch the service on a big-screen TV.

Ramasary walks through the pricing tiers for Black, explains how Cell C fibre broadband customers will benefit (including receiving a free set-top box) and sets out Cell C’s plans to bid for local sports rights.

It’s a great interview. Don’t miss it!

  1. Ofentse Letsholo on

Great great interview Duncan…she’s dodging the 4k and 1080p part but keeps on saying saying Fibre customers will get “great quality”. I just hope when it comes to music they could zero-rate it, I’ll most definitely join it. Great interview once again.

  2. Did she say you can listen live? Like we did on the wireless in the 1980s? What year is this again?
