Paratus Rwanda hosted the official opening reception of the African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) 2026 in Kigali, an event that coincides with the operator’s first anniversary in the country.
The 15th AfPIF runs from 18-20 August at the Kigali Marriott Hotel and brings together internet service providers, network operators, carriers, internet exchanges, data centre operators, technology companies and policymakers from across Africa and further afield.
At the forum, Paratus Rwanda is showcasing its connectivity services, including the Starlink for Business suite and discounted Paratus Essential Access plans for essential services, as well as its G2M fibre route.
Since starting operations in Rwanda last year, Paratus has expanded from Starlink business services into IP transit, wholesale internet and regional fibre connectivity. Its point of presence in Kigali connects businesses and operators to the wider Paratus group network, which the company said spans 16 African countries. Alongside Paratus Kenya, Paratus Uganda and Paratus Tanzania, the Rwandan operation forms part of the group’s East African network.
The G2M route connects Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo to Mombasa in Kenya through Kigali, Kampala and Nairobi. The 2 000km protected corridor gives carriers, internet service providers and enterprise customers cross-border capacity and access to the international subsea cables landing at Mombasa.

Paratus Rwanda also sells Starlink-based primary, backup and remote connectivity, including business internet and layer-2 links that connect branch offices and remote sites to head office.
“As we approach our first anniversary, AfPIF allows us to demonstrate that Paratus Rwanda is established, operational and ready to support businesses and operators locally and across the region,” said Paratus Rwanda country manager Innocent Mutimura. “Our Kigali point of presence, the G2M fibre route and our Starlink-powered services enable us to offer both terrestrial and satellite connectivity, supported by local expertise and the reach of the wider Paratus network.”
Representatives from Paratus Group, Paratus Rwanda, Paratus Kenya and Paratus Uganda are attending the forum.

Paratus Rwanda is a wholly owned subsidiary of Paratus Group, set up to supply and install Starlink services in Rwanda.
