Seacom is expanding its business services division to Cape Town and Durban, a year after launching the division in Gauteng. At the same time, the company is establishing an office in Cape Town.
Seacom, which operates a high-capacity subsea telecommunications cable along Africa’s east coast between South African and Europe as well as other infrastructure data services on the continent, said business customers in Cape Town and Durban will now be able to buy high-speed bandwidth solutions directly from Seacom Business and through its resellers.
The new service offerings include fibre Internet access at dedicated speeds of between 25Mbit/s and 1Gbit/s.
Seacom Business has placed dedicated sales teams in Durban and Cape Town, with the Cape Town office scheduled for April.
It has also established channel partnerships with technology resellers, service providers and systems integrators active on the coast, it said.
To date, Seacom has signed up 65 partners to support its drive into the business market.
Seacom said there is “enormous pent-up demand” for high-speed connectivity at the coast. — (c) 2016 NewsCentral Media
