The boss of Microsoft’s Surface devices says the company does not call its new Surface Duo a phone because that is a “limiting word”.

Now that Microsoft has restored some of its former glory, the company is going for an even more unlikely comeback: rewriting the history of its much-maligned phone business.

Microsoft is re-entering the smartphone market with a dual-screen foldable handset. The Surface Duo is the tech giant’s first smartphone since the Microsoft Lumia 650 in 2016.
