JSE-listed technology group Datatec has acquired 100% of the issued share capital of Inforsacom Holding, a German information and communications technology services and solutions provider, for an undisclosed sum. That acquisition has been done through Datatec subsidiary Logicalis.
In a brief statement on Tuesday, Datatec said Inforsacom is a provider of database, storage and infrastructure solutions and services with operations in the major economic centres of Germany.
“The acquisition will significantly enhance Logicalis’s scale and capabilities in the German ICT market,” Datatec said.
Inforsacom has an annual turnover of $140m (R1,5bn) and employs 160 people.
“The acquisition of Inforsacom creates a larger platform with broader ICT services capabilities to augment Logicalis’s existing German operations, in line with the strategy of growing our presence in Europe,” said Datatec CEO Jens Montanana.
The acquisition is subject to the approval by the German competition authorities and the South African Reserve Bank and is expected to be finalised in January 2015. — © 2014 NewsCentral Media
