Investec has released a mobile application for its private clients that provides them with a secure, real-time banking and trading platform for Android devices and the iPhone.
The smartphone app gives customers a consolidated account dashboard view of their private banking and global wealth and investment accounts.
South Africans with private banking accounts are able to view balances and transactions, and make payments to beneficiaries, including once off payments. Wealth and investment clients can view their global portfolios, browse market data, and buy and sell JSE-listed equities.
All account holders are able to contact their private bankers and investment managers through the app.
Lyndon Subroyen, chief information officer at Investec Wealth & Investment, says that when the company launched its iPad app in April, it was the first in a series of developments in digital at the bank. “The smartphone app is a progression of that strategy.” — (c) 2013 NewsCentral Media
