Internet Solutions (IS) has revealed plans to roll out fibre to 50 business parks in Gauteng, with Cape Town and Durban to follow by the middle of next year.
The company has also taken the wraps off its pricing.
“Historically, one of the issues with fibre installations in South Africa has been the high setup costs associated with deploying fibre services,” says Greg Montjoie, executive for carrier and connectivity solutions at IS. The company has decided to cap its setup fee at R999.
The fibre infrastructure will deliver fibre to business parks and retail sites with speeds of up to 1Gbit/s and starting at 2Mbit/s.
In Gauteng, the business precincts that will benefit from this fibre deployment include those situated in Kent Avenue and Oak Avenue in Randburg, Peter Place in Bryanston, Wierda Road in Sandton and the East Rand Mall. There’s also a first deployment in Cape Town at Westlake Office Park.
The company is also promising that the average installation time within the covered areas will no more than four weeks.
IS says it will offer access on a month-to-month basis with no long term contracts required. Montjoie says the Gauteng 50-site roll-out will be completed by the end of the year.
Pricing, which includes data, starts at R749/month for the 2Mbit/s service and goes all the way up to R8 799/month for 100Mbit/s. — © 2014 NewsCentral Media
