MTN South Africa is replacing its chief marketing officer, Brian Gouldie, who has been appointed at CEO of one of the operating companies within the group. MTN isn’t saying yet which country Gouldie will lead.
In the 10 months he has led the marketing team at MTN South Africa, he has been “responsible for redefining” the company’s “competitive position”.
“He has launched prepaid and post-paid converged products, with the most recent being the 79c voice and data offerings,” MTN says in a statement. “These have been instrumental in reaffirming customer affinity in the South African market.”
Gouldie also spearheaded MTN Mobile Money. He helped repositioning MTN South Africa and implemented “multiple strategic initiatives which have bolstered MTN’s role as a strong competitor”, says MTN South Africa CEO Zunaid Bulbulia.
Gouldie will be replaced in the marketing role in South Africa by Larry Annetts, who currently heads marketing in Nigeria, where he established MTN as the largest distributor of music. — © 2014 NewsCentral Media
