MTN South Africa has launched embedded Sim technology for postpaid customers. The eSim technology is available on the Samsung Galaxy Watch (42mm variant), it said on Tuesday.
The smartwatches is only available to customers purchasing a deal with the Samsung Galaxy Note10 or Note10+ on the newly upgraded MTN Made For Me or Sky Price plans, it added.
In March, MTN’s principal rival, Vodacom, launched a product offering customers a master number to which they can connect other devices using linked Sims and eSims.
Called Vodacom OneNumber, the product allows customers to link multiple devices, including smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, laptop PCs and even connected cars, and keep them connected independently of their primary device. The operator partnered with Samsung to offer eSim support for OneNumber on selected smartwatches. — (c) 2019 NewsCentral Media
