The price of petrol will rise by 88c/l on Wednesday, said the department of energy.
In Gauteng, a litre of 95 unleaded petrol and lead-replacement petrol will increase by 88c, while that of 93 ULP and LRP will increase by 86c.
Diesel (0,05%) wholesale will rise by 95,7c, while that of diesel (0,005%) wholesale will increase by 97,7c.
The price of IP wholesale will increase by 57,6c/l and the cost of single maximum national retail price will go up by 76c/l countrywide, while the maximum retail price of liquid petroleum gas will increase by R1,10/kg.
According to the department, the average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin increased during the period under review.
“The minister of finance in his budget speech on 24 February 2016 announced that the fuel levy on petrol and diesel will increase by 30c/l with effect from 6 April 2016,” said the department. — SANews
