Cell C is losing its chief financial officer. Fabrizio Mambrini, who joined the mobile operator five years ago, has tendered his resignation and will leave its employ soon, TechCentral has learnt.
Mambrini will return to Oger Telecom, Cell C’s parent company, where he was previously director of international operations. Cell C says it has a policy of not commenting on why its executives move on, with the exception being the departure of a CEO.
Cell C chief strategy officer Robert Pasley will act in the chief financial officer position until a permanent replacement can be found.
Mambrini, who is an electric guitar-playing music fan who has a doctorate in robotics (specialising in the control of electronic arm movement), joined Cell C not long after former CEO Jeffrey Hedberg joined the company. Hedberg went on to become acting CEO of Telkom and later chief operating officer at Altech.
Mambrini has an extensive track record in the telecommunications industry — he worked for Telecom Italia for 16 years, in both Italy and Greece, and later at Aria (later Avea) in Turkey, from where he moved to Oger Telecom. — (c) 2013 NewsCentral Media
