The board of Business Connexion (BCX) has named Vanessa Olver as acting CEO following the death on Wednesday of Benjamin Mophatlane.
Mophatlane, who was just 41, died of a heart attack while in a meeting in Rosebank in Johannesburg.
Olver, a chartered accountant, joined BCX in August 2009 and was simultaneously named to the company’s board of directors. She qualified as a chartered accountant by completing her articles at Deloitte & Touché. She worked for Deloitte LLP in Chicago, before moving to the UK where she held financial management positions with P&O Nedloyd and Aviva.
Before joining BCX, she was financial director of Standard Bank Africa.
