EOH subsidiary EOH Mthombo has acquired 100% of the entire issued share capital of Tactical Software Systems Managed Services (TSSMS) for R130,5m, beefing up its exposure to public sector IT spending.
TSSMS specialises in technology infrastructure managed services, including end-user support and training, server, network, storage and security management, and infrastructure deployment. Established in 2000, TSSMS has about 620 employees and supports 50 000 devices in the region.
EOH CEO Asher Bohbot says TSSMS has good exposure to government IT. The deal will improve EOH’s black economic empowerment credentials, which it says was a big motivation for the acquisition.
TSSMS will remain based at its offices in Woodmead, with Jehan Mackay continuing as its MD. Mackay will also join EOH’s executive committee.
The deal sees EOH’s staff complement growing to over 3 100 people, and means that it now has more than 2500 IT service clients across the country. — Staff reporter, TechCentral
