Huawei Consumer Business Group has announced the launch of the Huawei nova 8i. Since the release of its first model, Huawei’s nova series is built to deliver stunning designs and enriched features to fulfil consumers’ needs for productivity and entertainment. As a part of this energetic series, Huawei nova 8i comes with incredible feature updates that let users enjoy life to the fullest.

Coming in a delicate look, the Huawei nova 8i provides an upgraded 64-megapixel quad camera to help users of all skill levels to create, as well as a Huawei edgeless display that delivers an immersive viewing experience.

To top this off, the pioneering 66W Huawei SuperCharge technology means users can recharge rapidly to keep up with uninterrupted entertainment.

    Super display for immersive viewing

The Huawei nova 8i has an excellent 6.67-inch Huawei edgeless display for clarity, whether for video playback or games. This 1 080×2 376-pixel, FHD+ display supports DCI-P3 colour gamut to present true-to-life colours and vivid details.

The new nova smartphone comes with an upgraded Eye Comfort feature that has passed TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification. It can filter out harmful blue lights while minimising yellow discolouration

Super camera makes every snap count

Continuing Huawei’s camera legacy, Huawei nova 8i boasts an all-round AI quad camera to help you capture memorable moments. Fitted with a 1/1.7-inch sensor, the 64-megapixel hi-res main camera lets you easily capture clear pictures with crisp details and supports direct output of 64MP hi-res photos. The 120-degree ultra-wide-angle camera allows users to pack more content into every photo whether during a hike or family gathering, while with the macro camera you can take a close-up shot of finer details just 4cm from the lens.

When exploring after dark, the Huawei nova 8i is there for you, too. It supports Super Night Shot 2.0, so you can snap standout photos easily when walking through colourful city streets at night.

    Super features enable long-lasting entertainment

Low-battery anxiety is a thing of the past as Huawei nova 8i brings you the 66W Huawei SuperCharge and a large 4 300mAh battery Thanks to innovative single-cell tri-electrode technology, Huawei nova 8i can be charged to 60% in less than 20 minutes and can be fully charged in just 38 minutes. This means you can quickly give it a charge over your idle time. Plus, power-saving AI algorithms provide battery management for mobile tasks so you can make better use of the battery for games and entertainment that last throughout the day.

Using a full-scene Smart Antenna 2.0 design, Huawei nova 8i has seven antennas embedded into its four edges. This design helps improve signal strength for smooth gaming even when the device is held horizontally. Smart Game Assistant lets you be less distracted during games. When enabled, it lets you mute notifications of calls and messages for selected games to enjoy more immersive gameplay.

With internal storage of 128GB, you can save more onto the device. Riding on its high performance and Huawei’s smart memory technology, the Huawei nova 8i comes equipped with 6GB of RAM for the single-Sim 8i and 8GB RAM for the dual-Sim 8i, enabling a buttery-smooth experience for users to run multiple background apps at once.

Enriched user experience that you must love

Running EMUI 11, the Huawei nova 8i offers a selection of smart features to help users handle tasks more efficiently in everyday life. MeeTime lets you call another Huawei smartphone or tablet. It lets you communicate in a more convenient way by sharing your screen and you can add your own doodles and notes to it.

Huawei nova 8i users can enjoy a smarter, richer and more secure smartphone experience with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). In addition to Huawei Music, Huawei Health and other high-quality apps, Huawei has constantly unveiled new apps around the world through the trusted, innovative and secure AppGallery. The Huawei nova 8i also supports Petal Search to bring a reimagined searching experience, enabling users to enjoy a smart digital life.

    Pricing and availability

Coming in Moonlight Silver and Starry Black, the Huawei nova 8i is now available for pre-order at the Huawei Store (Online), priced at R6 999, between 27 and 29 September. You’ll receive a Huawei Bluetooth speaker for free. Pre-order now for R99 and get R999 off. Ts & Cs apply.
