Dimension Data’s Internet Solutions is acquiring disaster recovery specialist ContinuitySA for an undisclosed sum.
The deal means Internet Solutions will be able to meet demand from clients for full data recovery and business continuity services from a single provider, it said in a statement.
“There are a number of areas where the combined offerings of both companies will provide clients with a single end-to-end provider of services with enhanced delivery capability,” said Internet Solutions chief solutions officer Sean Nourse in the statement.
“For example, ContinuitySA’s work area recovery services provide highly secure facilities and this, combined with Internet Solutions’ capability to deliver immediate communications services through its voice-over-Internet protocol solutions, means businesses will be able to remain online and employees productive during any disruptive situation.”
The companies say that ContinuitySA will retain its brand and operational autonomy and also maintain a vendor-neutral stance. CEO Michael Davies will continue to lead the company.
ContinuitySA operates 25 000sq m of recovery facilities, including 3 000sq m of data centre space in Gauteng (Midrand and Randburg), Cape Town (Belville and Somerset West), Botswana, Mozambique and Mauritius. Internet Solutions, meanwhile, has 12 500sq m of data centre space in South Africa (Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Bloemfontein), Nigeria and Kenya. — © 2014 NewsCentral Media
