Investec has become the latest South African financial services institition to launch a transactional banking application.
The app, which is available for Apple’s iPad tablet only, offers mobile banking and trading tools to Investec customers. The app is available in the South African version of the App Store.
It provides a “consolidated account dashboard where clients can view all the relevant information for their Investec Private Banking and global Wealth & Investment accounts”, the company says.
Clients with Investec Private Bank accounts domiciled in South Africa can use the app to view their balances and transactions, and make payments. Wealth & Investment clients can view their global portfolios, browse market data, and buy and sell shares of companies listed on the JSE.
An app for Android tablets as well as various smartphones is in the works, too, according to Lyndon Subroyen, chief information officer of Investec Wealth & Investment, who is also driving the digital programme for Investec.
The app also provides Investec-generated news and analysis, including a daily view on world markets, along with JSE market data.
Private Banking clients are able to use the app to make payments to existing beneficiaries, pay bills and make other ad hoc payments, as well as check balances and transactions.
Wealth & Investment clients can get a consolidated view of their portfolios, trade JSE equities, view account movements and holdings and view a watch list of key data. — (c) 2013 NewsCentral Media
