Dimension Data’s Internet Solutions has bolstered its business cloud computing offering by adding partnerships with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud to its CloudConnect offering, it said on Thursday.
The AWS and Google deals mean IS now offers secure access to the three major global cloud service providers, with the third being Microsoft’s Azure platform. The new partnerships are offered as a fully managed connectivity service from IS, the company said.
“The service provides high-speed, ultra-low latency MPLS VPN connectivity via direct and secure links to AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Dimension Data Cloud and more,” said Gopal Govinder, executive head of virtual private networking at IS, in a statement.
Many of the cloud exchange partners are based in global points of presence and therefore don’t have a direct South African presence. Although this adds a “certain level of complexity” to the CloudConnect offering, Govinder said it connects customers via its global centres in London and Frankfurt for high performance. — (c) 2018 NewsCentral Media
