Telkom has appointed Jacques Schindehutte, until recently group financial director at Absa, as its new chief financial officer, replacing Peter Nelson, who resigned last year. He will take up the post on 1 August.
Schindehutte, who helped oversee Barclays’ acquisition of Absa, is a chartered accountant and also holds a BComm (Hons) and higher diploma in taxation. He spent about 14 years at Transnet.
He is currently a nonexecutive director at JD Group and Avusa.
Deon Fredericks has been acting chief financial officer at Telkom since Nelson resigned after reportedly disagreeing with decisions made by the board of directors under former chairman Jeff Molobela. — Staff reporter, TechCentral
