[dropcap]J[/dropcap]ohannesburg residents and businesses have been warned to plan ahead for a widespread planned power interruption on Monday, 10 July, extending into the next morning.
In a statement, City Power said dozens are suburbs, from Kensington in the east to Melrose in the north, will be affected by the outage.
Other suburbs to be affected include Corlett Gardens, Inanda, Atholl, Houghton Estate and Norwood (a full list is available on the City Power website).
“The power interruption is necessary to do essential maintenance work on our network, which is part of our programme of constantly striving to provide better service,” City Power said in the statement.
The interruption will take place from 10pm on Monday night, with power expected to be restored by 6am on Tuesdsay at the latest.
“As the supply may be restored at any time, customers are urged to treat their electricity supply points as live at all times. City Power regrets any inconvenience that may be caused by these interruptions.” — (c) 2017 NewsCentral Media
