[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ireless broadband network operator Rain, until recently known as Wireless Business Solutions, has hired a chief operating officer.
The company said on Wednesday that it has appointed Gareth Tindall, an ICT industry veteran, to the new operations role. He will report into CEO Duncan Simpson-Craib.
“Gareth will be responsible for all operating divisions across the business, and his vast experience and far-reaching network will be invaluable,” Simpson-Craib said in a statement.
“He is extremely passionate about business culture and customers, and his wealth of experience across a variety of industries will stand him in good stead as the glue that brings all the parts of our business together.”
Tindall’s prior roles include as sales & marketing director at Dimension Data for 15 years, CEO of Hertz Car Rental, Commissioner for the SA PGA Sunshine Tour, CEO of Kelly Group and business consultant at Investec.
The appointment of Tindall comes just two days after Rain announced it would work with Dimension Data’s Internet Solutions to take Rain’s network offerings to market. Internet Solutions will provide wholesale access to Rain’s LTE network to other Internet service providers, which will then sell access to end users.
Rain has to date rolled out over 750 4G/LTE sites and is on track to meet a target of 2 000 by the end of the year and 5 000 by the end of 2018, the company said. — (c) 2017 NewsCentral Media
