Cell C will zero-rate data for all its mobile customers this Easter long weekend wanting to try its new Black video-on-demand entertainment offering.
The mobile operator, South Africa’s third largest, is making a big push into content with Black.
The promotion, which lasts from midnight on Thursday evening to midnight on Monday evening, is available to all Cell C contract and prepaid mobile customers, it said.
To take advantage of the zero-rating, customers must sign up for a free, seven-day Black trial account, which provides access to the Flexi Premium package. Existing Black customers will also benefit from the promotion, Cell C said.
The company said, however, that clicking through to Black’s sports betting platform and the ticketing service will be charged according to the customer’s data plan. National data roaming (onto the Vodacom network) is also not included in the promotion and Black customers that are on other networks will not benefit from the free data promotion.
Customers must have a positive airtime balance to benefit. “While there is no fair-usage policy in place for this promotion, Cell C reserves the right to institute one if we detect high-levels of abuse.” — (c) 2018 NewsCentral Media
