Well-known South African hosting provider Hetzner has changed its name to Xneelo, it said on Monday.
The 20-year-old website hosting company said the rebrand is meant to help it expand internationally.
“We already have an office in Canada and intend to launch into new markets. Our international expansion means we need to change our name to avoid brand confusion with Hetzner Online, a separate company to Hetzner South Africa,” the company said in a note to customers.
Xneelo (pronounced “ex-nee-lo”) is “inspired” by a Latin phrase that translates into the ability to “create something out of nothing”.
The company emphasised that everything else remains the same, including the management team and its operational strategy.
“Our bank account number remains the same, so please be extra vigilant of phishing scams during this period of change,” it said. — (c) 2019 NewsCentral Media
