It’s thinner and lighter and has a front-facing camera. And now it’s coming to SA. Apple has confirmed that the iPad 2 will go on sale in SA this Friday.
In a statement published on its website on Wednesday, Apple says it’s bringing the iPad 2, its wildly popular tablet device, to SA, with the product expected to go on sale from 9am on 29 April. The iPad 2 is going on sale in 11 additional markets, including Singapore, Israel, Turkey and Korea.
Like the original iPad, which was launched in SA in January, the prices appear to be highly competitive. The devices will cost exactly the same in SA as the first iPad when it was introduced here.

Meanwhile, as expected, Apple has introduced a white iPhone 4, though it’s not clear when the product will arrive on local shores. The white iPhone will be available in 28 markets from tomorrow, Thursday. SA is not included in the list, but Apple says it will come to more countries “soon”. — Staff reporter, TechCentral
