Internet service provider MWeb has suffered a glitch that has impacted its e-mail services on Monday.
In a Facebook post at 9.21am, the company said its members are “experiencing e-mail difficulties” and that the company’s “engineers are currently investigating”.
The company advised its customers not to change any of their e-mail settings.
Furthermore, M-Web said its call centre has been “impacted by high call volumes”.
In response to questions about the outage at 14:41 on Monday, MWeb spokesman Cindy Nagel said: “We’re waiting for feedback from our upstream provider on both root cause and ETA (estimated time of arrival) to fix”.
An outage notice on the MWeb network status website for Monday, 5 October also read: “Members may experience delays in receiving mail”.
But MWeb customers have responded in frustration to the outage.
“Why is MWeb down for most of today? Does anybody know as this is really affecting business,” said one user. Another wrote: “Call centre is inundated with calls… Customers are screaming on their Facebook page and to date they have only given one update five hours ago… All incoming mails on MWeb’s servers are not working currently.”
On MWeb’s Facebook page, over 100 comments have been made in light of a post about the e-mail outage.
One customer on the MWeb Facebook page wrote: “It has been over four hours and still not working and cannot get through on call centre. Mondays need e-mail. How long until you are up and running?” — Fin24
