Former Absa chief marketing and communications officer Happy Ntshingila has been appointed as SuperSport’s new CEO, the sports channel said on Tuesday.

Ntshingila would report to the MultiChoice SA group CEO Imtiaz Patel, himself a former SuperSport CEO, SuperSport spokesman Clinton van der Berg said in a statement.

“With his extensive business experience and marketing expertise, Happy will be a valuable addition to the SuperSport team,” said Patel.

Ntshingila said he was excited about the move into broadcasting and entertainment. “I look forward to the challenges of my new role as CEO of SuperSport,” he said.

His appointment comes in the wake of the news, revealed this week by TechCentral, that former Cell C marketing director Simon Camerer is joining MultiChoice as the pay-TV operator’s new sales and marketing director on Wednesday, replacing Graham Pfuhl. — Sapa, with TechCentral
