Parliament’s communications portfolio committee on Tuesday announced the names of candidates shortlisted to be interviewed for four positions on the council of the Independent Communications Authority of SA (Icasa).
Icasa is responsible for the regulation of broadcasting, postal and telecommunications services in SA. Interviews are scheduled to start on Friday.
In a statement, the committee said the shortlisted candidates included Joseph Lebooa, Jacobus van Rooyen, Josephine Mabotja, Brenda Ntombela, Luthando Mkumatela, Kathryn Berman, William Currie, Kedibone Serero-Chiloane, Peter Zimri, Gabriel Magomola, Mankakane Magagane, Ntombizodwa Ndhlovu and John Matisonn.
Committee chairman Ismail Vadi said the list was a “consensus” one, supported by the ANC and opposition parties. — Sapa
