Samsung Electronics took the wraps off the Galaxy S8 and S8+ at an event in New York on Wednesday. The phones, the Korean company’s new flagships, feature a new “Infinity Display” for “immersive viewing experiences”.

The S8 will cost R15 499 in South Africa at launch (recommended retail price), while the S8+ will fetch R17 499. It will be available in three colour options locally: black, grey and gold. The phones will go on sale in 5 May, though Samsung emphasised that pre-order customers may receive their handsets prior to the official launch date.
