Telkom has moved to simplify its prepaid mobile tariffs by consolidating its on-network and all-network bundles into a single set of prepaid options that provide national coverage on both its own infrastructure as well as roaming partner MTN’s network.
At the same time, the company is cutting the price of prepaid data bundles. Out-of-bundle data rates are being reduced from R1/MB to just 29c/MB for prepaid customers, effective immediately.
“These prepaid data bundles will be valid until the end of the next calendar month rather than the industry standard of only 30 days,” Telkom said in a statement.

The previous 2GB+1GB, 25GB+25GB and 60GB+60GB bundles have been replaced with the 3GB, 20GB and 50GB Internet bundles respectively, Telkom said. Although this is less data than before, the data can be used at any time of the day or night.

“With these changes and enhancements Telkom customers are able to surf anywhere, anytime, at a cheaper price, with data bundles that last for longer,” said Telkom MD of consumer and mobile services Attila Vitai. — (c) 2015 NewsCentral Media
