Third mobile operator Cell C has extended its current contract and prepaid data promotions and hinted at more announcements around broadband pricing in the next few weeks.
The company said on Tuesday that it would extend promotions which were meant to expire at the end of July. They are now set to end at the end of October. Cell C said it would cut the price of out-of-bundle tariffs on these products to 15c/MB from 39c/MB previously.
Cell C has reduced the price of an entry-level 500MB/month data offer, which includes a 7,2Mbit/s USB modem, to R45/month, from R49/month previously on a 24-month contract.
Under the promotion, a 2GB Sim card-only option costs R99/month, or R119/month with a 7,2Mbit/s modem
The company’s 24GB Sim-only prepaid product costs R1 299 once-off and R1 999 with a modem. The data is made available in 2GB monthly increments and must be used over a 12-month period. The 15c/MB out-of-bundle tariff applies to these products, too.
“Customers can expect more announcements in the coming weeks,” says Cell C CEO Alan Knott-Craig. — (c) 2012 NewsCentral Media
