The South African arm of German technology services company T-Systems has won a R67,5m contract from the department of water affairs to manage and modernise the SAP enterprise resource planning applications the department uses.
The contract term is three years and the deal was awarded to T-Systems following a competitive tender process.
It’s not the first time T-Systems has worked with water affairs. It won a contract to implement a “revenue stabilisation programme” in 2010 to improve business systems and processes.
“The successful rollout of the revenue stabilisation programme offered a direct revenue value to the department and undoubtedly the [new] implementation will offer important returns,” says T-Systems MD Gert Schoonbee.
T-Systems has identified a number of black graduates who will be trained to provide support to water affairs. — (c) 2013 NewsCentral Media
