Apple’s new iPhones, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, will go on sale in South Africa on 24 October, the company said on Monday.
The Californian technology giant announced that the two new phones would be launched in 36 additional countries in the coming weeks.
They include nations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa.
“iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available in a total of 69 countries and territories by the end of the month and are on track to be available in more than 115 countries by the end of the year, making this the fastest iPhone roll-out ever,” Apple said in a statement.
The new phones feature larger displays. The iPhone 6 has a 4,7-inch screen, while the 6 Plus in a “phablet” or phone-tablet hybrid with a 5,5-inch display.
The company said the new iPhone would be available in the following markets before the end of the month:
- Friday, 17 October: China, India and Monaco
- Thursday, 23 October: Israel
- Friday, 24 October: Czech Republic, French West Indies, Greenland, Malta, Poland, Reunion Island and South Africa
- Thursday, 30 October: Bahrain and Kuwait
- Friday, 31 October: Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Guam, Hungary, Iceland, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macau, Macedonia, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, South Korea, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine and Thailand
