Long-serving Telkom executive Alphonzo Samuels will retire at the end of March 2020, the company said on Wednesday.
Samuels, who worked his way up through various roles within the group in a career than spanned more than 35 years to become CEO of its wholesale business, Openserve, will retire at the end of the financial year, spokeswoman Noma Faku said by text message.
Samuels has served as Openserve’s CEO since October 2015 and will be replaced in that role by Althon Beukes, Telkom’s group chief information officer, Faku said.
Beukes was chief commercial officer of Openserve for 11 months before taking the group CIO role in December 2018. He has served in various roles at Telkom, including as chief operations officer of IT services subsidiary BCX and head of the group’s data centre operations. — (c) 2019 NewsCentral Media
