Craige Fleischer, director of integrated mobility at Samsung Electronics in Southern Africa, has resigned to “pursue new business opportunities”, the Korean-headquartered consumer electronics group said in a statement on Thursday.
Apart from a brief stint in early 2015 as chief sales and marketing officer at Neotel, Fleischer has been with Samsung for the past six years. He will leave Samsung at the end of December, Samsung said.
Fleischer, who took the top mobile job at Samsung in April 2012, is a former regional director of Research in Motion (now BlackBerry) for Southern Africa. He joined Samsung in October 2011 when he took on a business development role in the company’s office automation and consumer electronics division.
As head of mobile, he was responsible for driving Samsung’s mobile communications business division in the retail and business sectors.
Samsung said on Thursday that it will prioritise the “management of a smooth transition as we prepare a succession plan”. — (c) 2017 NewsCentral Media
