The late Benjamin Mophatlane’s twin brother, Isaac Mophatlane, has been appointed as CEO of JSE-listed technology services company Business Connexion (BCX).
Benjamin Mophatlane passed away a month ago at the age of 41 following a heart attack. He had complained of chest pains during a meeting in Johannesburg and subsequently suffered cardiac arrest.
Isaac Mophatlane, who co-founded BCX with his brother, is head of sales and marketing and executive of its Canoa division. He will take the reins at the company on 1 August.
In a statement, BCX chairman Tony Ruiters says Isaac Mophatlane is the “natural choice of successor to Benjamin given his background as co-founder of Business Connexion and his intimate understanding of the operations and culture of the company”.
BCX is currently the subject of a R2,7bn takeover bid by Telkom. — (c) 2014 NewsCentral Media
