Until now, the iPhone has only been available through MTN and Vodacom.
Knott-Craig made the comments during a radio interview on Redi Tlhabi’s show on Talk Radio 702. He was responding to a caller’s question regarding the likelihood of Cell C carrying the Apple device.
“We will be launching Apple products on the network in the coming months,” he told Tlhabi, adding that discussions with Apple were in progress. He wouldn’t, however, commit to a firm timeline.
Despite being one of the most expensive handsets on the market, the iPhone has proved popular with SA consumers, so much so that both Vodacom and MTN have been struggling to keep up with demand.
Bringing the iPhone to Cell C could result in the operator securing more post-paid and business users.
