MWeb Business has cut uncapped broadband asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) prices, lowering the cost of 10Mbit/s uncapped and unshaped bandwidth by R500/month to R2 999 and reducing the price of its 1Mbit/s service to R759. Both products exclude Telkom line rental charges.
At the same time, the company has launched a 2Mbit/s business ADSL uncapped product at a cost of R1 199/month.
The company is also offering business customers more static Internet protocol (IP) addresses for a “small fee”. Five IP addresses are included in all of MWeb Business’s uncapped ADSL offerings but businesses needing more can now purchase them.
The new pricing will take effect on 1 September for existing MWeb Business 10Mbit/s and 1Mbit/s customers. New 10Mbit/s and 1Mbit/s customers will receive the reduced pricing immediately.
Unlike MWeb’s consumer ADSL offerings, its business-focused connectivity products provide maximum performance, with no shaping, at all times.
Meanwhile, the Internet service provider’s consumer arm has cut the price of its shaped 10Mbit/s uncapped accounts in half, from R1 999 to R999/month, again excluding line rental fees. — (c) 2012 NewsCentral Media
