Following the successful conclusion of Dimension Data’s acquisition of AccessKenya Group for R328m, the Johannesburg-headquartered company has announced that it has appointed its Middle East and Africa CEO, Derek Wilcocks, to the Kenyan company’s board.
Other executives who will become directors of AccessKenya are Internet Solutions International MD Nick Reed and Internet Solutions chief operating officer Julian Sunker.
The appointments are effective immediately and follow last month’s news from Dimension Data that its offer to acquire the Nairobi Stock Exchange-listed AccessKenya had gone unconditional with all preconditions of the offer satisfied.
AccessKenya now forms part of Internet Solutions, which is a division of Dimension Data Middle East and Africa.
Wilcocks, who was appointed as CEO of Dimension Data in the Middle East and Africa 18 months ago, was previously MD of Internet Solutions. He joined the group in 1995.
Reed, who joined Internet Solutions in early 2012, is responsible for the division’s Africa businesses outside South Africa, while Sunker, who joined the group in 1997 as financial manager, was previously financial director in the Middle East and Africa region before moving to Internet Solutions a year ago. — (c) 2013 NewsCentral Media
