The second annual VoiceSA event, a telecommunications industry conference taking place at the Bytes Conference Centre in Midrand on 22 September, will explore some of the big challenges facing the sector.
The event — it’s the second time TechCentral will be an official media partner — will look at, among other issues, ways of opening the so-called “last mile” into consumers’ homes and business premises to greater competition without necessarily relying on the unbundling of Telkom’s copper local loop.
The event brings together industry players and is billed as SA’s only “voice industry event covering the latest developments in business communication solutions and trends in the local telecoms landscape by industry experts for industry experts”.
VoiceSA 2011, which is free to attend (registration is required), will include presentations from Internet Solutions’ Wayne Speechly, ECN’s John Holdsworth, Yeigo Communications’ Rapelang Rabana and MTN Business’s Justin Colyn. They will speak about everything from the latest in voice-over-Internet Protocol technology to least-cost routing and the regulatory landscape.
