Two men are expected back in court on Tuesday for allegedly trying to extort US$1m (about R12,2m) from an insurance holding company.
At their last appearance in the Johannesburg specialised commercial crimes court, Dalton Lentswe, 38, and Henry Kofi Panti, 49, were granted bail of R5 000 and R20 000 respectively.
Mononyane is a self-employed computer system analyst and Panti is a Ghanaian businessman.
They allegedly gained access to Telesure Investment Holdings’ payroll system, stole its employees’ personal information, and then wanted $1m to return it.
The company owns and operates insurance brands including Auto & General, Budget, DialDirect and First for Women. — News24
