MultiChoice has announced it will rename its DStv Extra bouquet of satellite television channels. Effective immediately, the bouquet will be known as DStv Compact Plus.
The plan costs R489/month, and is placed between the more affordable Compact bouquet the top-end Premium plan.
The change will eliminate confusion between the Extra package and the company’s XtraView service, which allows customers to connect more than one decoder under one subscription, said MultiChoice South Africa CEO Mark Rayner.
“It also creates a consistent suite of DStv packages across the African continent where the name Compact Plus has been used for some time,” he said.
MultiChoice hopes to encourage DStv Compact subscribers to upgrade to the more expensive Compact Plus plan. As part of this, it is offering Compact customers the opportunity try Compact Plus at no additional cost in September.
“Current active Compact customers will automatically be upgraded to Compact Plus for this time without having to do anything,” the company said. — (c) 2017 NewsCentral Media
